Emer Kinsella (Emersion) is an eclectic violinist and innovative film and media composer from Dublin, Ireland. She has traveled on an independent journey throughout cities in Europe and the US working on film and media projects and has begun creating site-specific immersive concerts.
Her site specific concerts aim to enhance and encourage our engagement and connectivity with our surroundings and urban environments by unveiling with her compositions the intrinsic world within.
Emer began her musical journey at the age of two and a half as a classical violinist. This later led to composing her own works and an increasing interest in writing music for film and media. She has lived and studied in musical capitals such as London, Vienna and Berlin after which she was accepted with a full scholarship to attend Columbia College Chicago on an MFA in film scoring. Emer has collaborated on hip-hop, dance and interdisciplinary performing arts projects as a violinist and composer.
Emer has been featured in the motion picture Jungle starring Daniel Radcliffe, the Wachowski‘s Netflix series Sense8, and the Chinese motion picture In Full Bloom. She uses her violin as an internal voice within her own compositions and performances as well as a
collaborative voice with other composers, producers and song-writers.
